Blue Head Ranch Overlay District, Highlands Co., FL – Planning Consultant/Project Manager. Working on a 65,000-acre Comprehensive Plan amendment in Highlands County at Blue Head Ranch. If approved, this program will allow for the creation of a new town on a small footprint while preserving thousands of acres of lands with high natural resource value and thousands of acres of lands in agriculture. This will all be done at through the voluntary participation of the property owner in an effort to retain generational ownership of the Ranch. On-going 2007. (Atlanticblue Group – client) Nextel Communications, Inc. – Planning Consultant/Project Manager. Conducted feasibility site analysis for Nextel Communications for cellular towers and antennas from Miami to Sebastian to Okeechobee. Processed planning, zoning and permitting applications for all sites. Over 90 sites approved 2000-2002 (Nextel Communications – client) Flexible Zoning, Brockville, Ontario, Canada – Planning Consultant/Project Manager. Successfully brought the first Flexible Zoning ordinance to the City of Brockville. Innovative program of land development regulations that allows developers to have the ability to change the mix of dwelling units to be provided in a certain area based on changes in market demand without seeking further zoning amendment approvals through the City Council. (Approved in 1994) (Swiftwater Developments – client) St. Lucie County Rural Land Stewardship Area, St. Lucie County, FL – Senior Planner (with another planning firm). Assisted team with the development and successful approval of a 22,000+/- acre Rural Land Stewardship Area program in St. Lucie County at Adams Ranch/Cloud Grove. Project approved in 1996. (Family Lands Remembered – client) Town of Ave Maria Stewardship Receiving Area, Naples, FL – Senior Planner (with another planning firm). Assisted team with drafting of regulations for Stewardship Receiving Area for new 5,000-acre town in eastern Collier County. On-going site development plan approval support for development of lots within the Stewardship Receiving Area. Approved in 2005. (Barron Collier Companies – client) Rural Area of Critical Economic Concern (RACEC) Catalyst Application, Consolidated Citrus, Collier County, Florida – Planning Consultant/Project Manager. Prepared application for 1,760-acre property to enter as consideration as a Rural Area of Critical Economic Concern to be used as a catalyst property to spur economic development in eastern Collier County. Represented client at meetings. 2007. (Consolidated Citrus Limited Partnership – client) City of Concord Land Use Plan, Concord, NC – Coordinating Planner (City staff). Coordinated preparation of all text and research for City’s first Land Use Plan. 2004. (City of Concord, NC). City of Concord Unified Development Ordinance Update, Concord, NC – Interim Planning Manager (city staff) -prepared all text and gained City Council approval for City Unified Development Ordinance updates. 2003-2004. (City of Concord, NC) City of West Palm Beach, Florida, 1996 Evaluation and Appraisal Report for Comprehensive Plan – Associate Planner (City staff). Responsible for coordination of City’s Evaluation and Appraisal Report. 1995-1997. (City of West Palm Beach, FL) Avonlea Village Design Guidelines – Planner (with another planning firm). Assisted team in drafting regulations and processing development approval applications for new Village known as Avonlea in Stuart, Florida. Approved in 1997.
